Katina Athanas, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Chief Operating Officer & Nurse Practitioner

KatinaPreparation and experience allow me to help those with mental health challenges.

I am a compassionate and dedicated Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), committed to providing holistic and evidence-based care to individuals facing mental health challenges.

After dedicating six years to researching complex psychiatric disorders at McLean Hospital, I developed a profound desire to support individuals and families affected by mental health conditions in a meaningful way.

I embarked on my academic journey at Johns Hopkins University, where I pursued a Master of Nursing degree. Driven by a passion for mental health, I continued my educational pursuits at Boston College, earning a Doctor of Nursing degree with a distinct emphasis on psychiatric mental health.

As a lifelong learner, I stay abreast of the latest advancements in psychiatric care, integrating cutting-edge research into my practice.

Therapeutic alliance is at the core of my treatment plans.

My background encompasses a diverse range of experiences, from understanding, assessing, and diagnosing mental health conditions to developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans. I am passionate about fostering a therapeutic alliance with my patients, creating a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their concerns and work toward achieving optimal mental well-being.

My goal is to empower individuals to participate in their mental health journey actively, promoting self-care strategies and resilience.

Collaboration is at the core of my approach.

I work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Whether addressing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health concerns, I am dedicated to providing therapy, medication management, or a comprehensive blend of both to tailor interventions to the unique needs of each individual.
