PTSD Treatment
Trauma rewires the brain. It changes how you sleep, how you react, how you connect with the people who matter most. You are not broken. Your nervous system is stuck in survival mode. We specialize in helping it stand down.
PTSD Is Not a Weakness
PTSD is a neurobiological response to experiences that overwhelmed your brain's capacity to process them. It affects combat veterans and assault survivors, but also first responders, accident victims, medical trauma patients, and anyone who has experienced events that fundamentally altered their sense of safety.
Intrusive Re-Experiencing
Flashbacks that feel as real as the original event. Nightmares that jolt you awake drenched in sweat. Triggers that send your body into fight-or-flight without warning, in places that should feel safe.
Hypervigilance and Reactivity
Scanning every room for exits. Startling at sounds others ignore. A nervous system permanently set to high alert that leaves you physically exhausted and emotionally depleted by the end of each day.
Emotional Numbing
The inability to feel joy, love, or connection the way you used to. A flatness that makes you feel detached from your own life and from the people who care about you most.
Avoidance That Controls Your Life
You restructure your entire existence around avoiding triggers. Certain places, people, conversations, even thoughts become off-limits. Your world contracts until you are living inside a perimeter you did not choose.
You have survived the hardest part. The event is over. What remains is a nervous system that has not received the signal that you are safe. Effective treatment delivers that signal, systematically and durably, so you can stop surviving and start living again.
Trauma Treatment That Works
PTSD requires specialized intervention. General talk therapy and standard medication protocols are often insufficient. We deploy evidence-based trauma treatments backed by decades of research in military, first responder, and civilian populations.

01
Comprehensive Trauma Assessment
Using the PCL-5, C-SSRS, and detailed clinical interview, we establish a complete picture of your trauma history, symptom severity, and co-occurring conditions. PTSD rarely exists in isolation. We identify and address everything.

02
Evidence-Based Trauma Therapy
Our therapists are trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral approaches. These are not generic counseling sessions. They are structured protocols designed to help your brain reprocess traumatic memories and restore your nervous system to baseline.

03
Targeted Pharmacotherapy
Medication can reduce the intensity of flashbacks, improve sleep, and lower hyperarousal so you can engage fully in therapeutic work. We use genetic testing to select optimal medications and monitor response with validated instruments at every visit.

Integrated, Coordinated Care
Your prescriber and therapist work together within our practice, sharing real-time clinical information. This coordination is critical for trauma treatment, where medication adjustments often need to align with the pace of therapeutic processing.
Specialized Experience That Matters
Our clinical team includes a combat veteran and providers with extensive training in trauma populations. We understand the cultures, barriers, and specific challenges these groups face.
Military Veterans
Combat exposure, moral injury, military sexual trauma, and the unique challenge of reintegrating into civilian life. Our team includes a decorated combat veteran who understands this experience firsthand.
Veteran SpecialtyFirst Responders
Police, fire, EMS, and emergency dispatchers who absorb cumulative trauma exposure while operating in cultures that stigmatize seeking help. We provide confidential, specialized care that respects the job.
Confidential CareSurvivors of Assault or Abuse
Sexual assault, domestic violence, childhood abuse, and other forms of interpersonal trauma require specialized therapeutic approaches and a clinical environment built on safety and trust.
Trauma-Informed EnvironmentMedical and Accident Trauma
Serious medical events, car accidents, and near-death experiences can produce PTSD that is frequently overlooked or dismissed. We take these presentations seriously and treat them with the same clinical rigor.
Often UndiagnosedClinical Results You Can Trust
The quality of a psychiatric practice is measured by patient outcomes, not promises. Here is what our clinical data reflects.
Frequently Asked
Do I have to talk about what happened to me in detail?
Not until you are ready, and never beyond what is clinically necessary. Effective trauma treatment is paced to your tolerance. Your provider will explain the process, check in regularly, and ensure you feel safe throughout. The goal is to process the trauma, not to retraumatize you.
What if I am not sure whether I have PTSD?
Many people with PTSD minimize their symptoms or do not recognize them as trauma-related. If you are experiencing intrusive memories, avoidance behaviors, sleep disruption, emotional numbing, or hypervigilance following a distressing event, a clinical evaluation can provide clarity and direction.
How long does PTSD treatment take?
Treatment duration varies by individual, but evidence-based trauma therapies typically produce meaningful improvement within 12 to 20 sessions. Medication can provide relief from acute symptoms within weeks while therapeutic work progresses. We track your progress at every visit and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts, Point32 Health, and self-pay. Our team verifies your benefits before your first appointment.
Is treatment confidential?
Absolutely. We understand the career implications of seeking mental health treatment, particularly for first responders and military personnel. Your records are protected by HIPAA and Massachusetts state privacy laws. We do not share information with employers, departments, or commanding officers without your explicit written consent.
You Survived It. Now Recover From It.
The event does not get to define the rest of your life. With the right treatment, the flashbacks quiet, the hypervigilance fades, and the person you were before starts to come back. We are ready when you are.
